The poster at left is from my b&w photo exhibition documenting places associated with James Joyce
My article "James Joyce - an urban genius" reflecting on visits to Zurich, Trieste and Paris. |
I am interested in hard structural subjects - architecture, medieval towns, and especially modern architectural design. My current work is documenting sites where James Joyce lived and wrote in Paris, Zurich, and Trieste. |

Solo black-and-white photographic exhibition "Giochi di Luce (Play of Light)" August 2002 Arman, Via Manzoni 27, Treviso, Italy |

Also featured in:
Arts News
on AbsoluteArts.com The review by art critic Vittoria Magno can be read (in Italian) on "Il Gazzettino On Line" for 21-Aug-2002
"During a visit to Treviso in September 2001, the
play of light - whether on the ancient stones of the city or on the waters of
the Sile river, enchanted me. I enjoyed the tranquillity of the green oasis
which surrounds this beautiful place. Also in Bilbao in Spain the noon-day sun
revealed to me the magical forms of the Guggenheim Museum. I hope that these
photographs of mine will convey a sense of the harmony and beauty of both
subjects." It is thus that the Irish woman Megan O'Beirne, painter,
art-photographer and poet presents her photographic exhibition of black and
white photographs at the venue Arman in Via Manzoni. Testimony of her
discriminating eye during her many travels is the breathtaking poetry of her
simple subjects caught in the precious harmony of light and shade. It is
evidenced in reflections - houses mirrored in the water- in multiple and split
images - the shot of a street railings emphasised by their own shadow , in the
depiction of little-used streets in an enchanted Treviso. Her capturing eye
serves equally the monumental architectural rigour of the Guggenheim in crisp
black and white abstract images. |
